(Kai Lan is said to benefit the spinal cord & kidneys. Beef is "blood-building".)
300g Lean Beef
300g Kai Lan
2 slices old ginger, shredded
1 clove garlic, shredded/minced
1 tsp Chinese Rice Wine
½ Tbsp Sesame Seed Oil 1Tbsp Oil
Seasoning: ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, ½ tsp light soya sauce. Marinate : 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp light soya sauce, 1 Tbsp oyster sauce, 1Tbsp cornflour, 1 Tbsp Oil
Rinse & pat dry beef. Slice thinly across the grain. Marinate for 15mins.
Slice off the fibrous parts of Kai Lan Stems. Cut into thick slices. Wash & drain.
Heat oil , then fry ginger & garlic until fragrant.
Put in Kai Lan & seasoning & stiry-fry for 2mins. Remove & set aside.
Reheat wok with sesame seed oil until hot. Then add marinated beef & stir-fry for 2mins.
Return vegetables to wok & stir-fry with beef for a while. Serve.
