The 1st time i had the Old town Milk Tea was in KL which is known as
Xi Mut Milk Tea
I am not someone who enjoy strong milk taste in my tea.. this one.. though it tasted nice but i wish the tea taste can take over the milk taste instead. Yeah am crazy la.. its called MILK tea NOT TEA milk.. I don't mind having it again if someone is sharing with me...

Last week, @ NTUC...  saw THIS product which caught my attention while buying the white coffee for 我们家的老爷。He is an OLD TOWN WHITE COFFEE FAN while my MIL is a Fan of the Black Kopi O.... NOW me getting crazy of the MILK TEA!!!!!! Its more expensive then th coffee lo. 12 pack for $6.20
When buying it..I am hoping it taste better then other brand of milk tea which i kind of dun like its milky taste. If i can't take it, haha 老爷 will drink it cause he MUST have TEH almost everyday as well.. whenever we dine out. *Evil plot* if its nice... i will drink it myself... *haha wat a GOOD wife i am* :p

AND its the last pack!!!! haha Faster grabbed it...

NO REGERTS!!!
Love it Heart it!
The milk Tea isn't as strong as the store bought ones...
The Tea taste is stronger then the milk!!!!
HURRAY!!!! I don't mind drinking the whole cup to myself... *smile* It tasted good when its hot or with Ice in it...

chicken Congee

Mmmm yeap after my previous post on congee
YEAP we are having congee today :p
Congee is our comfort foods. So today... we are having chicken congee. Not my usual style. But i just felt like having some today. So Mr sim doesn't get to say NO to it.. haha

I decided to steam the chicken meat instead of boiling it. Just like how i did the 冬菜。 粥
steam it then pour in the juices that came off from the chicken into the congee i had prepared.

                               Her share                                                                       His share

Errr yes there's nothing wrong with your eyes... i added chilli into my congee... mmm weird??? Last time my colleagues will said i am CRAZY but after tasting it.. they did it this way too... haha i just love my congee this way especially when its chicken congee.

He love congee with egg. Added some ginger for mr. sim... Tasted richer in taste. He had 1 1/2 bowl himself.

Let's talk about Congee

Fried Rice

Drink Review: Pokka Pineapple Juice

Managed to see it while buying some grocies today. $0.70 per cent in a supermarket. Yes buying 6 cans will be cheaper but i am not sure if i like it anot. So decided to buy and test it 1st
There's an orange flavour too but this attracts me more...
I been wanting to try out this drink ever since it launched

 Does it attract u too?

My verdict:

Its nice but overall too sweet for me if i had to drink it directly from the can. I had to filled my cup with lots of ice in order to drink it for my comfort. And the pulps is too little. I perfer more pulps in it.
Have u tried it? If you like pineapple ..
can consider it on a hot sweaty day..
kind of refreshing with lots of ice in it.

Peanut soup

J requested for this recipe so did some calculate on what i used.
Please note - i didn't add in cuttlefish which most people will do so as my skin allergy don't allow me to have this nowsaday so i skipped this. You can always opt to add this in if you like it.
For me, in order to have the "seafood" taste. I played cheat and add in 1 tablespoon of fish sauce instead.

Ingredients:

1/2 bowl of peanut - washed
4 pieces of garlic with skin on
350g ribs
1.5L of water
4 red dates

500ml boiling water to scald the meat.

salt to taste
1 tablespoon of fish sauce - optional

Coriander - optional

Method:

1. boiled water in pot.

2. Scald the ribs. I did this so that the rib won't have those bloody water trapped in it. Olso to removed those "dirty" particles in it. After that, marinate with some salt.

3. Once water start boiling, add in ribs, peanuts, red date, peanuts, garlic into it. Turn to high flame to cook for 20min. Then switch to middle flame to cook. To cook till that's the texture you like.

4. Season with fish sauce if you are not using cuttlefish like me. Cook another 10min then off the fire. Can serve with coriander if you like it.

-------------------------

For us, we love 老火汤.. so i cooked it for 3hrs and more. SOUND SCARY right? 3hrs...
why make life so difficult to just drink a bowl of soup???
haha
Alots will said why don't use a pressure cooker? 15min will get it done..
Mmmmm honestly till now.. i am still very scared of handling it. Due to freaky experience i seen from friends... Freaked me off and so its out of my kitchen till i am ready to bring it into my territory. :p

onion Egg

Cooked these onion eggs for Mr sim. No more padi chilli in the fridge so added in some of my homemade chilli. I tested abit of it though i dun take onion egg... he finished the whole plate. So should be good la.. :p

Ingredients:

2 eggs - beaten
1 large onion
Chilli - diced ( Optional)

2 tablespoon of oil.

pepper
A dash of salt

Method:

1. Sliced the onion thinly.
2. Pan fried the onion. Add in the chilli.
3. Once the onion turn fragrant. Add in the eggs (with salt & pepper added in).
4. Pan fried both side till golden brown.
