This whole week, Mr sim won't be @ hm.. so basically i be cooking alone :( hate eating alone but now with baby inside.. i must cooked coz i am sick of outside foods and Mr sim WARNED me.. i cannot strave baby even i dun feel like eating...
I bought Veg that can last me for 3 days and used up the last portion for today's congee... My mum used to cook it for us.. she said tis is best for toddlers or baby..
xian cai aka baby spanish... I added my grind anchovies powder for a better flavor instead of cooking it together with the soup stock. Added in some minced meat for taste.
If u intend to cook it for ur lil toddlers.. pls cut the veg finer and grind the anchovies finer too..

Food review: Xin char chan teng 24hr
Xin cha chan teng had been ard for a few years at jurong point. Not really our 1st visit. This is the 3rd time we dine there. 1st time was after our mid nite shopping for supper. 2nd time was for steamboat.
This time we settled our dinner there. These are what we ordered...
They served Tim sum all day.. And we saw they had a set combine to chose from so we decided to try out set A which wr can chose what we want to form the combo.
This isn't the best n definitely not the worst.. When served the crust was lukewarm BUT the custard was cold.. Slightly disappointed when bite on it.. It will b nice if the custard was warm too...
Xiao long bao.. Skin is slightly thick n not much juices in it.. Can give it a miss...
I sort of like this the most.. Not too salty for my liking but mr sim found it not salty enuff for him..
Mr sim ordered their Claypot rice.. Tasted not too bad but if the rice is slightly more q q.. It be prefect..
I ordered beef hor fun
It's abit too salty for me.. It tasted like our char Kway tiao in taste.. The beef was kind of tender as a bonus..

Chicken Pork Muscle Herbal Soup
Bought this pack of herbs from NTUC
Decided to make myself and baby some soup today.
This pack cost $5.50
I divide this pack into 2 portion since 1 whole portion is too much for me alone.
In order not to add extra seasoning, i decided to add in some pork muscle and chicken thigh.. with a lil salt..
Chicken thigh $2.50
Pork muscale $2.50
Serve for 1 to 2 pax
made 3 bowls.
Double boiled for 2hrs..
Without much seasoning.. it tasted very sweet :) with the meat assence all inside the soup.

Food review: 三盅两件
I hope I get the name right.. This is one of our fav. Chinese rest and we used to frequent it like once a mth when we were dating.. Hehe n tis is the Pl our MR sim bought me for dinner on our 1st date :p
The q was too long and we doesn't want to wait for an hr to get into the Pl so check how long it will take if we buy packed away.. 20min.. Well fair enuff so we ordered a rice each n their signature chicken.. Yummy..
Mr sim ordered a minced meat steamed rice.. I find the minced meat abit too dry but I love the crunchy water chestnut they add in for the bite.. Gave it a better texture.
Mine chicken sausage steamed rice.. Generous portion of rice which I should shared with mr sim but I doubt he b filling if he shared mine.. The chicken was well marinated.. Very tender..
Needless to say this is our main dish of the nite.. Yummy ESP with the Ginger spread with it though I can't take much Ginger.. I still can't give this goodies a miss.. Wrapped with the lettuce given.. Yummy ..made it more unresistable to have one piece after another.

Food product Review: CP Teriyaki chicken with Rice
This morning while doing groceries... Mr sim & I saw this... something simple on a lazy day just to fill up the hungry stomach..
From the packaging.. it look so tempting right.. a one dish meal...
Sound prefect on a busy day when u just reached home after work OR hungry @ a timing when you are lazy to go out to the nearest food court to get foods or call fast food...
Curious HOW good it will taste. we decided to just get one IN CASE my lil baby doesn't like it.. it won't go wasted...
This is how it looked... *shocked* Doesn't seem to telly from the packaging right.. haha this is what appeared in my mind... DID we get conned from the nice packaging picture?
Decided to try it... IF not nice.. the most is fed it to the rubbish bin only.. *oppz*
Heating up in microwave oven.. Using medium heat for 4min....
It came out piping hot AND does smell good..
A small portion of chicken + 4 strips of carrot + some caixin (ps: it tasted abit like salted veg( those homemade) after being soaked in the sauce...
Honestly the 1st ting dat came into my mind.. Errrr Look like flight meal... where they always asked..
Sir/Mdm: CHICKEN OR FISH?
Taste wise: edible.. but instead of the teriyaki taste.. i felt the pepper taste was over power..
The chicken was quite normal...
Generous portion of sauce given * I like this.. so won't be too dry to just eat the rice alone*
Portion was good.. Sufficent enough maybe for a small eater + a toddler to share.
Question time: WILL I BUY THIS AGAIN?
mmmmmm maybe once ina BLUE moon or i will kept it in the freezer for a rainy day...
Cost: $4.90 ( i got mine in NTUC X-tra)

It never occured that we have to cater to tingkat one day... Mr sim suggested we have my confinment meal catered since i DOESN'T like REAL confinment foods which is a big torture if i have to follow it for 30 days... No way i can keep having herbs, sesame oil, ginger and bleh bleh bleh... i will end up more sick after that instead of building up my body.
There's a lots of places doing tingkat BUT which had the better foods? Or should i said.. which will suit my taste better?
Shortlisted these 5 of them which seem to be good... maybe we will try out the trial den make our decision on which to get since we still have @ least 5+mth to make a decision... for my confinment period and the next few month after birth..
Dun tink i am able to settle down myself n my lil bunny in the kitchen..
So friends who have tried any of the above... Pls share with us your experience and the choice of foods you like/dun like from the caterers listed.

Black Bean Soup
Black beans are a very good source of cholesterol-lowering fiber, as are most other legumes. In addition to lowering cholesterol, black beans' high fiber content prevents blood sugar levels from rising too rapidly after a meal, making these beans an especially good choice for individuals with diabetes, insulin resistance or hypoglycemia. When combined with whole grains such as brown rice, black beans provide virtually fat-free high quality protein. You may already be familiar with beans' fiber and protein, but this is far from all black beans have to offer.

鸡丝。香菇。河粉
Made 鸡丝。香菇。河粉 for our dinner today.. Using some of the braised meat sauce i had to stew with some mushrooms. Topped with some chicken meat that i steamed instead of boiling it.
