Bon Gout (Japanese café and bookshop)

Some pictures.... about the place we went to...

Part of the menu...

BonGoût, which means “Good Taste” in French, is surprisingly a Japanese second-hand bookstore and a café located at the cosy and tranquil corner of Robertson Quay since 2000.

You can pick from their set-lunch-options or something from the a-la-carte menu... Tonkatsu sets (Japanese Schnitzel...), Japanese curries, Ramen, Croquettes, Japanese stir-fry dishes and so on..

Here's what we had:

The kids had Tonkotsu Ramen (Pork Bone Based)
Not too bad.. @ least the soup based is rather light compared to some which are over powered in taste and too oily.

 With Q-Q Ramen
Sis had set lunch of the day (All sets come with a bowl of rice, side dish, miso soup & pickles.)

I had Beef Steak.. very tender and Juicy... LOVE the salad potato that came along as side dish...

Mr Sim had Beef with stir fry veg... we find that the pork wasn't very tender... mmm maybe i can do a better version.. *opps*

Bro ordered: Spicy Beef Steak CUrry !!! NICEEEEEEE
as recommeneded by the chef.. its one of his own fav... the curry isn't too thick or watery.. just the kind of curry i love.. spicy? mm kind of BUT definately not the kind tat you will sip water after a mouth of it

 Dessert time:

Seriously we are not very impressed by this green tea mochi with red bean.. i had higher expectation on this

 Their homemade vanilla ice cream
the boys said its not as nice as the other time but i do like it.. it doesn't have tat very heavy milk taste and had very rich fragant of vanilla in it..

We tried a few dishes that day.. was too busy enjoying the foods to remember its names.. so If you are interested .. do drop by
But i would recommend dinner time coz lunch had too lil variety if you are looking for more good stuffs...

Service was super slow that day and we waited very long for the dishes, the dessers and stuffs due to down of staffs.. so be prepared to wait IF you had the same luck as us on the day we visit..
