Product Review: CP 5 Spices Thai Style Chicken

Saw this BIG chicken in a black box by CP few weeks back... Curious by how it tasted like.. cause DEC is a season to have T u r ke y BUT Mr sim doesn't like it.. so i suggested WHY not we give this chicken a try...
Cost: SGD $15.90 from supermarket.

I decided to add on some potatoes, carrots & onions to bake it together....

DONE... the meat is still very tender despite it had been kept frozen.

In the end, we couldn't finish the whole thing and i decided to shred the extra meat out and kept it frozen for another day..

To complete the meal.. i added in some lettuces and make my own thai chilli sauce to go along with it..

Not too bad for a frozen proudct.
Very convient for lazy people like me..

Special Edition by Granny. Hakka A - Zi Pan

A - Zi  Pan

This Kueh is nothing new to any of us in the family cause this is one of the Kueh granny will always made once in a blue moon especially after winter solstice whenever there is leftover dough for the tang yuan. If not, she will just knead her own dough for the skin.

Granny was saying, 这是我的家乡菜。。古老味
This is something she had since young in her hometown back in china... and she got married to Singapore after that.
She enjoyed making these for her kids and now her grandchildren and great grandkids..

Actually its a very easy to make but nowhere found in singapore. Rarely or dun even see people selling it.

The basic ingrdients are, dough made of gluntious rice. The fillings consist of turnips, yellow beancurd, Dry Cuttlefish, mushroom.
Wrapped with either dumpling leaf  /banana leaf.

The skin will be slightly sticky with the salty filling.. its heavenly good!!!! Its something that even with $$$$.. you won't get to buy it when no one know how to make it nowsaday.

Its the 1st time Mr sim had this... he kind of like it. :( i cannot eat any this year due to my skin allergy. Mmmmm must tink of something.. lolz maybe Mrs sim's edition one day...

not wrong for misplacing/losing the card in there.

The previous time when i visited this place. We saw our next table having this drink but am worry it might taste very sweet but J ordered it during our meet up and said it tasted not too bad.
So i told Mr sim, we will share a bottle when i went to get a drink meant to be shared.
Actually it tasted 99.99% closed to our F&N brand
so it tasted not too bad. The aunty was kind enough to give me another cup with ice when i requested for it.

Japanese Bottle Drink SDG $4.70

 Yaki Gyoza
There is a choice of 5 / 8 pieces
can't remember how much it cost for 8 pieces
5 pieces SGD $5
I like the condiment to go along with it. Infact, i used this condiment for the dippings in whatever we had just now.

 Tsukune(chicken balls) SGD $2.90
Salmon Stick SGD $4.90
Quail Egg with Bacon SGD $2.90
All tasted not too bad. I dipped it with the Gyoza sauce, it helps to get rid of the grilled oily taste.. Enhanced the grilled with a lil soury taste.
Overall i still perfer the Tsukune ones more then the other 2.

Beef Shabu Shabu
SGD $12.50

This portion definately can be shared by 2 person if you are ordering more foods. Not too bad. They are quite generous with the veg and beef portion today. The stock tasted not too bad today  ( the other day, the gals were saying its too salty) LUCKILY the chef is not so generous with the salt today.

Ham and Mushroom Pizza
SDG $10.50

I had this the other time too. I kind of like it but Our Mr sim said he perfer the other kind of crust. This crust is too thin ( no texture/bite) for him.. haha i tink its coz of the seaweeds.. he seem to be "complaining" why they added so much of that.

Crepe with Azuki + Matcha gelato
SGD $9.50

You can ask for additional scope with a top up of $3.20 if i am not wrong...

Last but not least... ITS dessert time... we had this the other time too. And i been missing it so much...i had been telling Mr sim how good it tasted.. how nice the crepe are.. how good the matcha gelato is.. L U C K I L Y   he agreed too... *smile* meaning.. we will be returning for more some other day.. hahaha

Today dinner cost us $55.85 ( included 7% GST)
